Please congratulate the winners for the Poetry and Story Competition for December...
spykidgj and Tyr!
Their entries are below:
When I woke up this morning,
The world had grown older,
Outside it was storming
And December seemed colder,
But in its chill it brings warmth:
Magical snow,
Gentle quills that rest upon the earth
Waiting to be heard,
To be kissed by a child,
To bring a smile to the world.
In its wake, it falls from the heavens
Like angels of peace
Born from the seven—
Waiting to fall upon the face of the lover,
Or perhaps some other
Who waits all year for the sight of snow;
Without a doubt, it will come and go
But we shall cherish the warmth in our hearts
Despite the December cold
For there is a joy in the snow
That warms the old and carries the young,
It is full of tales untold and stories unsung.

Snow ( Story )
When one lives in the south, there is no snow. A kid has grown on a warm climate whether, he has not seen snow since the miracle event of that whether since he was in second grade. He is now in high school, and can't recall anything but weakling ice. One morning, his Mother told him to get up & take the trash out, along with shovel the driveway. He grabbed his coat, his penny hat, and his soft gloves.
This kid was half-sleep, it was the morning when he was told to do this. He assumed his mother wanted him to take the trash out, but once he had the door closed behind him he realized that his Mom had added something rare to that sentence. "Wait Mo-" *Door Shuts* "Did she just say shovel the driveway..?" The boy shrugs his shoulders as he was about to proceed with his morning duty of taking out the trash.
When he turned around, he didn't see his driveway, but a layer of white replacing it.
